What is a Baal Shem?

"Baal Shem" (also spelled "Ba'al Shem" or "Baal Shem Tov") is a Hebrew term that literally means "Master of the Name." In Jewish mysticism, it refers to a person who has attained a high level of spiritual knowledge and mastery over the divine name, and who is able to use that knowledge to perform miracles and bring about healing.

The "Baal Shem" is a healer or curandero. These are spiritual leaders who work to develop their spiritual powers and insights into the workings of the divine for the benefit of all beings.
